IGNITE Media Camp 2011 Photo Exhibit
Exploring Intimacy, Using Our Stories to Build Power
In December 2011, twelve dynamic queer and trans youth of color gathered from 5 southern states to discuss intimacy and ignite change within and for themselves while building knowledge and new relationships at the 2011 IGNITE Media Camp organized through the Fierce Youth Reclaiming & Empowering (FYRE) program.
Using photography as a mode of self-expression, over the course of 4-days and 3-nights, participants explored a world of self and communal possibility, hope, and transformation.
Under the banner of “Exploring Intimacy: Using Our Stories to Build Power”, these amazing and fierce youth examined the connections between intimacy, art, and activism and how art, specifically photography, could be used as a catalyst for social change.
We invite you to join us at WonderRoot in celebrating these vibrant youth as they exhibit their photographs and their efforts to capture intimacy on film. The event runs from 7:00pm to 9:00pm and refreshments will be provided. Be sure to RSVP!
Parking available in the Homegrown parking lot across from WonderRoot.
